Guess where I'm going?

So my lovely sister is in town for an extended weekend. It's my birthday and to celebrate we are heading to .... Dolly Parton!! I cant wait. I think she is so much fun. I can't wait to hear the mix of music she will play, from country to bluegrass. And more than anything it will be fun to go out for the night with my big sis!

Blushing Beauties

I have been feeling particularly girly lately, and have been loving all the blush pink tones I have come across. My favourite is the Tyler Dawson picture above. The whole apartment is beautiful and connected through the flow of colour. I love the velvet fabrics and the gold accents. The coffee table and mustard chair are quite ornate but somehow do not overwhelm the room. Its the perfect mix of strong and bold with discrete and feminine. Restraint

The mirrored fireplace, the coffee table, simple cornices and colour highlights restricted to the vase of flowers equals pure restraint. The purity of this room inspires me.

Sunday's Touch of Bling #8

I wish I 1. owned a pair of these, 2. could walk in a pair of these and 3. had the legs to go with a pair of these. But until I rub a magic lamp, I will continue to happily drool over these Tory Burch beauties. Atlantic Pacific really does know how to pack a punch in the fashion stakes. Pairing the shoes with the gold cuffs looks so natural, I'm sure if I tried it would look just like that - trying! Fashion lover - peace out!

Zoology

We took our daughter to the zoo today, it turned into a steamy type of day. First three trains, a ferry and finally a sky safari into the zoo. The overhead view of the elephant enclosure was pretty cool too. Anyway I thought I would share the animal theme for the day. I love the kids room in particular.

Macaroon Love from Around the World

I love macaroons. The colour, the classic and sometimes risky flavours. I love the initial crunch before the melting in your mouth of sweet goo. And now I love that high quality macaroons are really anywhere in the world. Hunting the Hound

Houndstooth has to be one of my favourite fabrics. I love the heritage of it. I love its versatility. But what I am loving right now is its comeback. Yay for the hound. The four-in-four check originated in Scotland but it’s hard to pinpoint an exact date. From celebs to ageless fashion houses, the hound remains.
